Bufo is a sacred medicine derived from the vaporized secretion of the Bufo incillius toad, native to the Sonoran Desert. The experience is fast-acting and typically non-visual, often described as a direct encounter with non-dual awareness—a profound sense of oneness beyond identity, story, or separation. Many experience Bufo as a powerful interruption of habitual patterns, offering a brief yet deeply impactful glimpse into unity, presence, and the nature of consciousness itself.
Kambo is a traditional Amazonian cleansing medicine that works directly through the body, often experienced as both a physical and energetic purge. It is commonly used to stimulate the body’s natural clearing processes, supporting immune resilience and helping release accumulated stagnation. The experience can be intense but is typically brief, creating a strong reset in the system that many people describe as clarifying and grounding. Beyond the physical effects, Kambo is often experienced as an energetic cleanse, clearing heaviness, emotional buildup, and patterns of stress, leaving participants feeling lighter, more present, and deeply embodied.
San Pedro (Huachuma) is a master plant medicine that has been used in Andean traditions for thousands of years to support healing, balance, and insight. This ceremony offers a structured, co-created space that honors both personal sovereignty and the collective intelligence of the group field. While not a replacement for therapy, Huachuma can be a powerful pathway toward healing, embodiment, integration, and inner alignment. The experience is often gentle yet profound, supporting clarity, emotional processing, connection, forgiveness, and insight into one’s path forward.

Jessica is the founder of Shama Sanctuary and a longtime guide in sacred medicine and integration work. A mother of seven remarkable human beings and a former pastor, her path has been shaped by decades of holding space for others through grief, transformation, faith transitions, and deep inner inquiry. Her work with Bufo emerged not as a departure from her earlier vocation, but as a continuation of it—rooted in reverence, responsibility, and care for the whole human experience. Jessica’s integration work is informed by the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model, a trauma-informed therapeutic approach that honors the intelligence of the psyche and the protective patterns formed through lived experience. Through Shama Sanctuary, she offers carefully held ceremonial spaces and ongoing integration support that emphasize safety, embodiment, personal sovereignty, and the remembering of wholeness.

Lauren serves from a deeply nurturing, Divine Feminine presence, offering a space of safety, attunement, and embodied support. Her practice is rooted in a modality that weaves body-based psychotherapy with spiritual development, bringing awareness to the defensive patterns formed in childhood that restrict life force energy and shape recurring life and relational dynamics. Through identifying and gently dissolving these energetic blocks, Loren supports greater freedom, vitality, and authenticity. Her work integrates energy and consciousness as pathways to real transformation, helping others reclaim their power and step into the fullest expression of who they truly are.

Sophia is deeply passionate about movement, creativity, and collaboration, with a lifelong background in ballet, modern, and contemporary dance. Her career has taken her across the globe, including two years performing with a dance company in Suzhou, China. Drawn to deepen her relationship with embodiment and mindfulness, Sophia later completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in Spain, where she developed a centering Vinyasa flow that weaves breath, movement, and presence.
In addition to yoga, Sophia is trained in sound healing, working with singing bowls to support deep relaxation, emotional release, and energetic alignment. During the retreat, she will guide morning yoga sessions designed to cultivate balance and embodied awareness, as well as offer a powerful sound healing experience during the Bufo ceremony. Sophia will also lead a ceremonial purification ritual using fresh flowers and healing essences, creating a sacred bathing experience that supports intention-setting, renewal, and personal transformation throughout the retreat.

Ellie was introduced to meditation 26 years ago by her teacher, Joy S. Gilbert. What began as a personal exploration gradually opened into a deeper sense of meaning and purpose, shaped by a relentless curiosity about the nature of the mind and consciousness.
Over time, Ellie recognised that her deepest longing was not for answers or improvement, but for a clearer seeing of reality as it is. This continues to unfold as a lived inquiry rather than a finished understanding.
Throughout this retreat, Ellie will share simple and accessible ways for the mind to calm, the body to rest, and attention to yield naturally into presence—exploring how meditation can arise in many forms and in ordinary moments of life.
Silence plays an important role in this exploration, offering a deeper connection to our being. As Rumi wrote, “Silence is the language of God; all else is a poor translation.”

I believe that everyone has the potential to live a fulfilling and meaningful life. By identifying and working towards their goals, my clients are able to unlock their full potential and create a life they love.

Sarah is a lifelong traveler and seeker whose healing path evolved from relentless movement to deep inner listening. After years of pushing her limits through long-distance hiking and global travel in search of meaning, a pivotal encounter in Kathmandu shifted her from external striving toward embodied presence. Over the past two years, her relationship with plant medicine has supported a slowing, softening, and reconnection with the body’s innate wisdom, replacing achievement-driven seeking with a grounded sense of wholeness. Today, Sarah serves from lived experience, holding space with humility, presence, and deep respect—supporting others as they meet themselves just as they are.

This five-night, four-and-a-half-day immersion is intentionally designed as a step away from the noise and momentum of everyday life. It offers a rare opportunity to slow down, turn inward, and enter a carefully held ceremonial rhythm where healing unfolds through presence, preparation, and relationship. Each day builds upon the last, creating a gradual descent from purification and clearing into deep remembrance, embodiment, and integration—supported by shared meals, ceremony, nature, and meaningful time together.
The first day is devoted to preparation and purification, creating a strong foundation for the work ahead. We begin by gently transitioning out of daily life and into the ceremonial container through intention-setting and community orientation. Kambo is offered as a physical and energetic cleanse, supporting the body in releasing stagnation and clearing the system. This day is complemented by transformational breathwork, helping participants open the breath and establish trust in the body’s innate intelligence. The emphasis is on clearing, readiness, and presence.
The second day centers around Bufo, approached as a deeply sacred and communal experience. This ceremony is held as a collective process, where participants support and witness one another with care and reverence. The day begins with a ceremonial bathing ritual to prepare the body and spirit, followed by the Bufo ceremony itself. Time afterward is dedicated to rest, reflection, and a sharing circle, allowing participants to be seen, heard, and gently integrated back into the group field following this profound encounter with non-dual awareness.
The third day is devoted to Huachuma (San Pedro), an earth-based medicine that invites embodiment, relational presence, and heart-centered awareness. This ceremony supports grounding what has been opened in the previous days, drawing participants back into the body and into relationship with one another. Huachuma often deepens the sense of communal connection, weaving individual insights into a shared field of warmth, clarity, and mutual support. This day emphasizes integration through movement, nature, conversation, and shared experience, allowing the medicine to unfold gently and organically.
The final full day is focused on integration, reflection, and slowing down before re-entering daily life. We begin with an excursion into nature, such as a visit to a nearby waterfall, offering time for movement, quiet reflection, and grounded connection outside the ceremonial space. This time supports settling the body and giving shape to what has been experienced over the previous days.
In the evening, we gather for a cacao closing ceremony, a heart-opening ritual centered on gratitude, honest sharing, and presence with one another. This ceremony creates a simple and intentional closing, allowing participants to reflect, speak from lived experience, and acknowledge the shared journey. The retreat concludes in connection and clarity, with space to pause, appreciate, and bring the experience to a close.
This retreat is intentionally limited to 15 participants to ensure a well-supported and cohesive experience.
